Steve;

Insightful as always! I agree that schism amongst Christians is one of Satan’s favorite tools for keeping us bound – that judging and unforgiveness thing grieves the Holy Spirit. And, since it’s He that makes disciples through us, even our ‘good’ efforts apart from Him are useless for growing the population of Heaven. And, I think that that always needs to be a church’s mission; not growing their own rolls but growing Heaven’s rolls. You had made a statement sometime ago about institutions and traditions destroying creativity but I think the greater truth is that not being ‘eternity minded’ warps our understanding of the purpose of institutions and traditions; elevates their importance. They’re supposed to be the supporting structures upon which we allow the Holy Spirit to ‘flesh out’ carbon copies of Jesus! When we make growing the institution and maintaining our traditions the supreme goal then the creative spirit, which is The Holy Spirit, leaves.
